Retention Marketing Manager

Location: Washington DC      

As our Retention Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for driving increased value from existing GetUpside users. You will focus on improving two key metrics: 1) reducing consumer churn and 2) increasing consumer usage. To achieve this, you will, identify potential reasons for churn or lower usage and develop interventions to increase retention and usage.

What will you do?

  • Learn about our users through quantitative and qualitative approaches

  • Develop hypothesis for what is causing user churn or lower usage

  • Develop A/B experiments to launch interventions that test your hypothesis with a goal of improving retention and increasing usage

  • Work with the content team to develop and launch campaigns

  • Will work the product & engineering team to understand our users, get data you need, get the tools to self-service develop experiments, and productize the best ideas that are working

What do you need?

  • 5+ years of analytical marketing experience

  • User understanding & empathy through quantitative and qualitative approaches

  • Strong analytical skills that drive data-based decision making

  • Marketing creativity to develop campaigns that will resonate with users and be engaging, attention grabbing, and beautiful.

  • Understanding value & prioritization: Ability to ruthlessly prioritize value vs. effort

  • Teamwork: Ability to work with many different folks and skill sets

  • Proven track record of being able to deal with constant change and enjoy problem solving in a fast paced startup environment.

  • Above all else you must be a builder who wants to be involved in a startup where the opportunities are endless but you stay focused on the small wins that truly move the business forward. A constant desire for learning and self improvement.
