Merchant Operations Manager
Location: Washington, DC Department: Merchant Operations
GetUpside helps businesses grow and people save by driving customers to nearby businesses with personalized cash back offers. We’re driving new customers to local businesses (more than 5,000 businesses across 13 states have made $10+ million in profit through GetUpside). We’re putting cash back in consumers’ pockets (more than $7 million cash back earned).
In the end, we want to help local businesses get what they need (customers) and consumers get what they need (gas, groceries, you name it!) for less. GetUpside is growing rapidly, with 17x growth in transaction volume in 2018 and we’re driving hundreds of millions of dollars of commerce a year!
We're a DC-based startup founded in 2016 and made up of a great collection of people from companies like Google, Opower, Washington Post, Mastercard, Capital One, and LivingSocial. We recently closed our second round of funding and are well-funded by a great group of investors who care about our company, our mission, and our team’s success.
What will you do?
Drive merchant success of GetUpside as we expand from 5,000 locations to 30,000+ by end of 2019 by: Managing merchant onboarding from large enterprise customers (hundreds to thousands of locations) to SMB merchants (handful of locations).
Launching new merchant sites (gas, grocery, restaurants) in GetUpside by configuring system via tools and scripts
Reporting success of GetUpside program to merchants to ensure continued participation in the program
Running custom ad-hoc analysis to answer enterprise merchant questions
Developing standard reporting practices for self-service merchants
Drive GetUpside operational efficiency to support 30,000+ merchant locations by:
Developing merchant onboarding and maintenance processes to sustain high merchant retention rate, while reducing human effort
Developing processes and procedures to improve efficiency and quality of configuring new sites
Analyzing merchant metrics to understand merchant health and to prioritize automation projects
Working with product & engineering teams to automate onboarding process, configuration tools, and client reports
What do you need?
5+ years work experience, preferably in technical project management or technical operations roles
Process and systems oriented approach to problem solving
Strong analytical skills, organizational skills, prioritization skills
Self-driven to identify potential problems and proactively develop solutions
Proven ability to work in a fast paced and quickly growing startup environment.
A constant desire for learning and self improvement
